Where to Begin
- Park along Tafelberg Road, near the trailhead. This road runs beneath the iconic cliffs of Table Mountain and offers easy access to the hike.

- Upper Cableway Station - we descend via the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
Terrain
- Expect rocky paths and natural stone steps.
- It’s steep yet no climbing or scrambling is required.

- Hike up, ride down - enjoy the challenge of the ascent, then relax with a scenic cable car ride back down.
Trail Overview
Platteklip Gorge is the easiest direct hiking route to the summit of Table Mountain.

- Difficulty Physically demanding but non-technical. Can be taxing on the knees

- Table Mountain is home to the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest yet richest plant kingdom on Earth.
- Along the trail, you may encounter fynbos - a unique and fragrant vegetation found only in this region.
